Please join us at the biennial Useppa Island Historical Society's Dinner and Auction, coming up on Friday, March 20. You will enjoy a wonderful evening of dinner and dancing under the stars on the Collier Inn terrace, a great reason to stop by the Island.
We are selling tables of ten as well as single tickets. Seating will be assigned, ensuring that you can sit with your friends. Tables are available for $2,500 for a sponsored table of ten, or $1,500 for a normal table. Individual tickets are $150 if you wish. We will do everything we can to seat you with your friends, if you let us know your preferences.
The extra donation for the sponsorship tables is a huge help to ensuring that all of our auction sales will be clear income to the museum. Please consider helping at this level if you are able.
Our live auction this year will have a "fund-the-porch" bid item aimed at raising money for a much needed expansion of our rear porch, which will be used to maintain and make up Museum exhibits. Right now we simply have no space to use other than in the display areas of the Museum, and badly need dedicated space for making up and keeping up our displays and exhibits.
In addition, we will hope to gather funds to "seed" the expansion of the Museum building proper, to include an expanded assembly room, additional display areas, and much needed improvements to the office and exhibit preparation spaces.
We ask that you personally consider donating an auction item to the event. You probably have something you do in your life that would be of great interest and value to someone else. Do you have a second home, a ski lodge, a camp, or a city apartment that might be of interest to a bidder? Do you have a boat or a car or a golf cart that you are just itching to donate to the museum for auction? How about access to special events, museums or sporting venues? Are you a fishing guide or a pilot? Are you willing to host a dinner in your home? If you can offer an auction item, the fact sheet can be downloaded here.
The Museum is a wonderful asset for us all as Club members. The history of Useppa Island and its place in southern Florida makes it a truly unique place. Please help if you can. For reservations, please send in a copy of the RSVP found here, or call Rona Stage at 239.283.9600, or e-mail her at RonaStage@useppahs.org.
We look forward to seeing you at the Collier Inn on Friday, March 20 at 5:30 pm.
Thank you for considering this.
